And here’s Part 2 of Day of the Dead! Enjoy!
‘Other heroes cheered him on… Even Bullet, his old enemy from the California Bastards. The bald giant had got his name after he replaced his teeth with bullets he fired from his mouth.’
He remembers when he was there before in the war:
‘As Joe had fought his way out of the cemetery, doing his best to save as many of the village children as he could, shielding them with his super soldier body from the gunfire, his final memory was of the red and black skull grinning down from the tree at him.
‘”I was like you. You will be like me.”’
‘That was the day Joe Gilmore became Marshal Law.’
Marshal Law dates Zip Code at the Ball, while Joe Gilmore is with his nurse girlfriend Rosita. Rosita has no idea he is also Marshal Law, whom she hates.
Rosita, has been dating Joe Gilmore when an injured Marshal Law is brought into her hospital. She removes his shorts and recognizes his manhood.
‘Angrily, she ripped off his mask and stared into the face of … Joe Gilmore.
‘Law decided this whole thing was far too uncool for a masked – or even an unmasked – avenger.
‘He figured he’d leave the explanations to Gilmore; he’d probably enjoy the guilt and shame of it all.’
Rosita slaps him and storms off. Joe follows.
‘And another thing!’ She turned towards him. ‘You were … with that leather-clad slut - Zip Code!’
‘That wasn’t me, Rosita. Honestly! That was Marshal Law!’
…’You’re sick. You’re insane.’
‘No, I’m fine. It’s Marshal Law who has the problem.’

‘I love Watchmen. I love Dark Knight Returns and I worship Will Eisner, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, but Marshal Law is still my favourite comic book of all time.’
Mark Millar, writer of the Ultimates and Wanted.
Some amazing artwork from Kevin. His love of these characters is clear from every panel. Kev was a great talent and a lovely friend. This is a fine tribute to him.
RIP to the king. Thanks for sharing these.
