I’m a terrible one for stage fright and I get quite grumpy ahead of ‘live events’, so Friday night’s Sha Kickstarter launch event, hosted by the lovely folk at 77 Publishing, was not how I wanted to spend the evening.
But it turned out to be NOT scary, massively helped by Ben Cullis being very welcoming, and by the fact that we hit £1000 within about ten minutes of hitting the launch button. And then Steve Bull and Jo Heeley kept posting updates: You’ve hit…£1500! …£1750! Wow!
And then just three hours after we launched, we got the notification from Kickstarter that we’d hit our funding goal of £5000. Whaat!
So a HUGE thank you to everyone so far who has supported our campaign, you are amazing.
And if you’re still thinking about it, let me show you how gorgeous the exclusive deluxe hardcover edition is: this is the entire dust jacket, showing the front and back covers, and front and end flaps. Beautifully designed by Ken Reynolds, who also lettered Sha for us.
I AM HERE IN THE CITY OF
SCREAMING CHARIOTS WITH ITS
THOUSAND PHALLUSES SNEERING
THEIR TRIUMPH OVER THE
GODDESS BENEATH.
I AM HERE TO FIGHT BACK.
The hard case beneath the dust jacket has a different design. I think I’m right in saying that we haven’t actually shared it publicly, so I won’t reveal it here. It’s very classy, and also has gold foil detail!
The deluxe edition comes with a ten-page art gallery by Olivier Ledroit. The art comprises concept art and sketches, such as early designs for Sha the Goddess.
And a beautiful study of some of the vehicles that are featured.
We also get to see Olivier’s visions for the dystopian city of New Eden.
The magnificently grotesque Monk Dufrere.
And of course, Detective Duffy.
All the gallery art pages are also available as high quality art print add-ons, as is the front dust jacket cover, and the endpapers - because they are a work of art in their own right (as is pretty much anything Olivier paints).
The deluxe edition is £37 and includes a bookplate signed by both Pat and Olivier.
We also have a more modestly priced standard edition: equally beautiful, but without the art gallery, dust jacket, ribbon placeholder and special ‘Making of Sha’ written by Pat.
That is going for £22, and will also be available to buy a short while after the campaign is fulfilled next year. The deluxe will not be available after the Kickstarter.
We’ve also got signed copies of Pat’s original synopsis and script available as an add-on, if you enjoy the ‘behind the scenes’ look at how the project came together.
I hope you’ll consider supporting us with Sha, and rest assured we intend to follow up with Volumes 2 & 3 next year.

Thanks for reading! Pat’ll be back next Monday with the low-down on the Manga Requiem Vampire Knight project!
It looks great! Missed backing on opening night but backed as soon as I saw the email! Really looking forward to reading this.
