Requiem Vampire Knight in a world turned inside out!
"A rip roaring yarn of gothic intrigue, conflict, parody, comedy and violence, with the sexiest depiction of vampires in all of fiction."
If you’re new to Requiem Vampire Knight and wondering what it’s all about, allow me to be your guide to the fantastic world of Resurrection.
It’s my best selling French fantasy series sold all over Europe, and available in English in a digital edition from Millsverse. Illustrated by top French fantasy artist Olivier Ledroit and written by myself, I believe it’s one of the most amazing and ambitious, imaginary worlds ever created. And so do its fans - recently, ten thousand of them went to see an exhibition of Requiem art at Angoulême comic convention!
"Violent, satirical, imaginative, and - above all else - gorgeous." Mike Isenberg
It’s a world where time runs backwards, so its citizens actually grow younger. A world where decadence rules and progress is strictly forbidden, so its Archeologists bury scientific inventions. A world which is a negative image of ours: where there is sea on Earth, there is land on Resurrection. And where there is land on Earth, on Resurrection there is sea.
It’s a world populated by Vampires and their Victims, Ghouls, Werewolves, Zombies, and Dragons. Whatever you did on Earth will decide who or what you become on Resurrection. So my protagonist Requiem was a German soldier in World War Two and his crimes on the Russian Front means he regenerated on Resurrection as a Vampire Knight, the deadliest and most evil beings on the planet who are ruled over by a monstrous, winged Count Dracula.
But somehow Requiem still aspires to do the right thing, he still has feelings and he is still in love with Rebecca, the tragic and beautiful Jewish girl he met in war-torn Berlin. But there is no love on this Hell planet – in fact love is forbidden – so can he ever be reunited with her?
After a twelve-year hiatus (that’s a whole other story), Volume 12 of the series, The Fall of Dracula was finally created, and our wonderful publishers Editions Glenat released the French hardback edition at the start of May, and our English language digital edition followed shortly after. A thirteenth volume will complete the epic adventure, and Olivier will be starting on that as soon as he finishes his current project.
Our series focuses on Requiem’s search for Rebecca against a background of a fantastic war between the Vampires of Draconia and the Reptiles of Dystopia.
Amongst the other characters you will meet are Otto, Requiem’s comrade and best friend, who hides a sinister secret about his past; Sean a Lemurian (Victim), who – like Requiem – is in love with Rebecca; Black Sabbat (formerly Aleister Crowley on Earth), who is plotting to overthrow Dracula; and the especially evil vampire Cryptos, who is so old he has regressed to being a toddler and is suffering from juvenile dementia.
Plus a host of ghoul buccaneers, led by the gross Lady Mitra and the super-stern Lady Venus, the most ‘woke’ and politically correct heroine you will find anywhere in fiction.
And everyone’s favourite: the treacherous Lady Claudia Demona who is so popular with readers, she now has her own spin-off series Claudia Vampire Knight (drawn by Franck Tacito). Volume 1 is also available on Amazon.
If you wondered what I wrote after my Nemesis the Warlock, Sláine and ABC Warriors series were complete, this is it!
Requiem Vampire Knight is available on Amazon, Gumroad and Global Comix. It’s a journey into the most astonishing, funny and exciting world of fantasy you will ever encounter. And volume 12 is extra-long, with special three-page and four-page, widescreen, panoramic scenes of Resurrection so you can fully appreciate the incredible nature of Olivier’s art.
Hope you will join us!
Is there any likelihood of this being released in printed form in English?
I am late at reading this as I wasn't aware you have a Substack account.
Amazing story and fantastic over the top art
I await the day the complete series will be printed in one phantasmagorical compendium!
Hopefully, when that happens, the difficulty of scarcity will not hinder it's worldwide availability.
Hell! I truly love this!
