Apologies in advance for maybe getting a wee bit spammy on the Sha Kickstarter front: we have about 54 hours left on the campaign and it’s all getting rather exciting/scary.
We had a brilliant start, reaching our funding goal of £5000 in three hours, and continued to do well for a few days, then plateaued, and it became a bit more of a slog to reach those self-imposed milestones of ‘200% funded’, or ‘350 backers’, and silly things like that.
Anyway, we’re on the downward slope, and you know what? We’d so love to hit 400 backers! We’re currently on 370, having suffered rather a lot of cancellations (11 in six days), although the chaps at 77 Publishing assure me it’s all perfectly normal.
So if you’ve already backed Sha, thank you! If you haven’t, why not check it out. Or help us by giving it a share.
Pat’s recorded a short clip in which he talks about why he loves Inspector Duffy, the main character in Sha. Duffy has an eventful and revelatory story arc across the three volumes, so I hope you’ll stick around for our next two Kickstarters as we complete the series.
And while we’re talking Kickstarters, another compelling Kickstarter comic we wanted to recommend is "Leviathan" - a thrilling, international adventure that follows the world's greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes, as he investigates the disappearance of freighters led by a lone survivor claiming an iron monster from the deep is responsible.
In this gorgeous new graphic novel, Holmes teams with Jules Verne's Captain Nemo and relies on his deductive skills and the nautical knowledge of the famed captain to stop a madman from igniting a world war.
The story is from Eisner-winning author (and unabashed Holmes fan) Mike Baron (Punisher, The Flash, Star Wars), and was drawn by master illustrator Richard Bonk (Superman, Witchblade, Teen Titans). Together, they've crafted a mature, gripping tale with memorable heroes and villains from classic literature and world history, including a few surprise encounters with other classic characters. Dive into the depths of mystery and intrigue with Sherlock Holmes: Leviathan! Take a look at its Kickstarter campaign, and watch the trailer, and consider helping them bring this epic adventure to life.

Pat and I are big fans of of the 1980s Sherlock Holmes TV series, starring Jeremy Brett, and this graphic novel looks very exciting!
