I wouldn’t even say lie, as that is something conscious and intelligent beings do. It’s just guessing, as all of their output is, just most of it is educated guessing, based on a huge amount of data and fancy coding. I like Charlie Stross’ monicker for it - “Grand Theft Auto Complete’.
